Preliminary figures are in for Sunday’s 450th episode ‘Once Upon a Time in Springfield’. The show was bumped to an after-8pm timeslot due to an overrun of Fox’s NFL coverage, but the 8pm half hour averaged a whopping 21.01 million viewers. These figures will be adjusted later in the week when Nielsen releases the show-ratings rather than the half-hour ratings, but we can already tell you before the adjustments that this will be the most-watched episode of Seasons 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 (season 16’s post-Superbowl episode had 23.1 million viewers).
The episode aired prior to Morgan Spurlock’s Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special, whose ratings will be detailed in our next post. Fox was first overall for the night, as well as among adults 18 – 49. The highest rating show of the night was the NFL wildcard game itself, which peaked at an average of 34.72 at 7.30pm.
This episode will be replayed Wednesday night at 9.30pm. You can rate the episode below.

The next new episode is Million Dollar Maybe, which will air on January 31
While they lied about it being the 450th episode (actually 451) it was better than the actual 450 one and I really enjoyed it, this whole seasons been really good.
Flawless episode, I couldn’t have been more pleased.:)
I’m really looking forward to the next episode too.
The best is yet to come!
I asked for double figures. I tell ya, I didn’t expect that much. Probs more likely to be due to the NFL, but we’ll just have t wait and see eh?
WOW 21 mil!!! its probably mainly due to the football match but still great ratings! and also a great episode, could of been better and definitely not near any of the best but still good, 4/5
hopefully there’ll be great ratings next week too but almost certainly not this much… unless there’s another big game next week, i don’t know much about American football. 😀
I was amazed at this episode (as the last one), it was flawless, truly inspiring. It was touching at best, and funny too. It changed the dynamic of the show, it had Krusty staying (not leaving) with Princess Penelope. I hope to see more of her.
Great Episode. I really enjoyed it. I think the show got a major boost from the football game which went into over time and delayed both the episode and the Documentary by about 15-20 mins. Still, 11 Million for the documentary is great and these for the episode are fantastic.
NO DO’H NUTS
This has got to be one of the worst episodes this season. I haven’t seen a badder episode since “Lisa The Drama Queen”.
here are my reasons why this episode is so bad
-Since when does Lisa like unicorns she likes ponies!
-since when has krusty been married 15 times, did it happen before 1989?
-the other plot in the episode had mr burns cut off the donut supply at the nucleur power plant, um i think that has already been done in 1998 in simpsons comics issue #38 and it was a crudy version of it to say the least.
– And the joke NO DO’H NUTS was already used in the simpsons comic issue #38.
all in all worst episode this season!
also i didn’t care for princess Penelope
2/5….
the krusty show needed female viewers and thats what the simpsons got. i hated this episode.i have oved every episode of this show but i hated this episode. although i hated it i am looking forward to the next one abut homer winning the lottery behind marges back(it sounds like a sequel to the episode when kent brockman wn the lottery)
this episode was about krusty needing female viewers and got a lot of female viewers for the simpsons.this is to me what comic book guy would say “worst episode ever” and i never thought i would hate an episode until now.i had liked every episode until this one,i am hoping the next one will be a success and i was actually looking forward to the next one hopefully it will be less girly next episode and will not suck completely throughout the show

u two need to both shut up
I agree with Marbat this episode was bad, i hope the next episode is better.
This episode was one of the best “Simpsons” episodes in a very long time. Anne Hathaway is extremely talented – her credible Long Island accent & her stupendous soprano singing voice. Hathaway’s versatility continue to amaze me.
Flawless? No. Better than most of the new episodes? Bingo.
