A total of 6.45 million viewers tuned in to watch last night’s Christmas-themed + future episode ‘Holidays of Future Passed’. While down on last week’s impressive figures, they are still far off the lowest we’ve seen this season.
The Cleveland Show (4.98 million) took the place of Allen Gregory this week, though you wouldn’t know it based purely on the results. It might take viewers a few weeks to notice this scheduling change. A new Family Guy followed with 6.05 million viewers, while American Dad ended the night on 4.99 million viewers.
The big winner for the night was NBC’s Sunday Night Football (peaking at 24.02 million), while The Amazing Race finale on CBS had 13.68 million viewers. ABC’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ had 8.91 mllion at 8.00pm.
Fox finished fourth overall for the night but placed third among adults 18 – 49.
That was the last new episode of The Simpsons for the year, but if you missed the episode (which has received high acclaim on fan forums), it will rerun Friday night at 9.30pm and again on Christmas Day if you’re into watching TV on that night. The next new episode is “Politically Inept, With Homer Simpson” which will air January 8. Last night’s episode can be rated below with a choice of five humorous Christmas carol selections (re-used from last year, no less… sshhhhut uuuuuup):

Truly one of the best episodes of The Simpsons in the past 10 years.
I was very impressed. Air Travel, Ralph’s Clones, and did anyone else catch sideshow Bob being killed at Moe’s by a rake?
🙂
The Simpsons has an amazing ability to tell a story that is heartfelt with laughs along the way and this episode definitely did that. I love the emotional storytelling this show has always been able to do.
One of the Ralph’s clones wore his hat while he was on fire lol that was really funny and I don’t think a lot of people saw it
WOW….XD
“sshhhhut uuuuuup” – awesome
Like Rob said, this was probably the best episode of the past 10 years, if not a bit longer. The future jokes were Futurama funny and were all pretty much hit rather than miss, but what really made this episode special was the heart. Seeing the family being a family again was the perfect holiday gift, and a great way of reminding us why we love The Simpsons so much.
Admittedly though, I was awaiting this episode with giddy glee just to see how Lisa was going to turn out, so my opinion might be a bit biased. 🙂
Wow, this is the best episode since season 9. Also the most recent episodes seem to be pretty good as well, they are getting good again!
By far one of the best epsidoes I’ve ever seen, I had stop watching the Simpson long time ago, I got tried of it and the characters never getting older. I even haven’t watch alot of seasons, I wish they would do a season or more then that of the Simpson family actully gornw up like in the xmas speical or a season during they teen years and how bart met his wife we never really saw.
