“The Game Boy Advance version of The Simpsons Road Rage, developed by Altron and published by THQ, is due in exactly one month, on 4th July. The game is very much like its console brothers, and sees you take on the role of one of 15 taxi driving Simpsons characters, though ten of those need to be unlocked. The four modes of play are Road Rage, which charges you with making as much money as possible in a time limit, mission mode, with ten specific tasks, a practice mode going by the name of Sunday Drive and a head-to-head mode.” This is the first Simpsons game to appear on Game Boy Advance. You can see in-game screenshots at Game Asylum.

The Simpsons: Hit And Run
Vivendi Universal today announced their 2003-04 video games lineup to be showcased at next month’s E3 Expo. Amongst the titles is a new Simpsons game titled “Hit And Run”. The game will mostly feature driving missions, but players will also be required to complete some on-foot missions in a similar fashion to “Grand Theft Auto”. All up, there will be more than 70 missions across seven huge levels. The game will feature 17 different drivers from the show, and more than 40 vehicles will be included. While not much has been said about the missions, players will be able to explore a lot of Springfield, inside and out. There are over 2,500 lines of written dialogue from the show’s writers in addition to spoken dialogue from the original voice talent. The game will also feature a four-player multiplayer driving challenge mode, and will be released on Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, and PC in September this year.
The Futurama video game was also re-announced and is now said to include 30-minutes of new Futurama footage. It will release later this year.

Vivendi Nabs Fox Interactive
“Vivendi Universal Games and Fox Interactive have announced a new agreement that gives VU the right to publish and distribute all Fox video games currently in development. The agreement, which grants VU the ability to publish games based on The Simpsons and Buffy, expands a smaller co-publishing deal the two companies signed in 2001. Financial terms were not disclosed. “Though we’ve had great success over the years with both home-grown and acquired properties, this deal presents terrific opportunities and the best business model for our content,” said Fox Interactive president Steve Bersch. “We feel certain that our games, and the Fox properties they are based upon, will be best served through this expanded relationship with Vivendi Universal. We have some fantastic games coming and believe this is the right step toward helping them reach their greatest potential in the marketplace. With this deal, Fox Interactive will join VU’s already expansive line of publishing labels, which includes Blizzard, Sierra, Black Label and Universal Interactive.” Read More >>>
