EA Announces ‘The Simpsons’ Game
EA have today announced what we hinted at a couple of weeks back, an all new Simpsons game for Wii, Xbox360, PS3, DS and PSP. The website dedicated to the game was launched but provides little information on the game. So we went to GameSpot.

The latest news doing the rounds is that a game based on The Simpsons Movie, suitably dubbed The Simpsons Game, is currently in development by Electronic Arts. The news comes to light after a number of retailer product listings added the game over the weekend.

Samsung Announce Simpsons Movie Phone
Samsung Telecommunications America announced today that it is working with 20th Century Fox to design a limited release “The Simpsons Movie” collectible mobile phone and accompanying promotions. Based on Samsung’s slimmest, most advanced phones, The Simpsons Movie phone will be Simpsons yellow — inside and out — and feature The Simpsons Movie logo with the words, “Special Edition.” It will also come pre-loaded with exclusive The Simpsons Movie content.
In the months leading up to the movie’s July 27, 2007 theatrical premier, there will be more announcements about The Simpsons Movie phone, as well as other related Samsung promotional activities.
“Samsung is excited to be a part of the The Simpsons Movie with a collectible phone that embodies The Simpsons,” said Dale Sohn, President, Samsung Telecommunications America. “The Simpsons Movie is a highly anticipated event that is sure to reach millions globally.”

EA Announces Video Game Deal
Twentieth Century Fox Television and Gracie Films today announced a long-term deal that grants EA development rights to multiple videogame titles based on The Simpsons. Working closely with the television studio’s Licensing and Merchandising division, Gracie Films and Simpsons writers, EA will create original Simpsons game content for next generation videogame systems. This groundbreaking deal between Fox and EA is the first development deal between these two entities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The first game of the multi-game deal will be launched on next generation systems; no launch date has been announced. “This is a great opportunity for our talented development team to collaborate with the brilliant minds of The Simpsons to bring original Simpsons material to videogame fans,” said Nick Earl, Vice President and General Manager, EA Redwood Shores Studio.

Greetings From Springfield Promotion
The Promotions Factory in Australia have this week begun their Greetings From Springfield promotion, which sees limited edition Simpsons figurines, DVDs, and environmentally friendly shopping bags rolled out to over 700 Coles, Bi-Lo, and Target stores Australia-wide. The promotion is one of the largest of its kind, with 28 figurines to collect at $2.00 each, ten specialty DVDs valued at $10.00 each, and three printed shopping bags replacing the traditional ‘Go Green’ bags at the participating supermarkets. The DVDs are those in the Simpsons Classics range which includes Bart Wars, Too Hot For TV, and TheSimpsons.com to name a few. Not all titles wille be available at all stores and stocks are limited. 2006 Calendar Covers Revealed
While we’re only a third of the way through 2005, HarperEntertainment have today released the cover art for their 2006 range of Simpsons Calendars. The lineup this year includes a Fun Calendar, a Trivial Box Calendar, and a Mini Calendar, which looks to be a miniature version of the traditional wall calendar. Note that the art on these calendars has been known to change closer to their actual release, but so far the preliminary releases look quite nice aside from the recycled cover for the Mini Calendar. The items are due to be released on June 1st this year for those of you who like to get in early.

Cover Art For Next Complete Guide
A couple of months back we talked about the next book in the Complete Guide To Our Favorite Family series. Today, Amazon has released the cover art for this book, titled The Simpsons: One Step Beyond Forever. The book will cover seasons 13 and 14 and will be released on October 31st, while another book is currently being produced which will cover seasons 15 and 16.
