As The Simpsons Poster Contest draws to a close and the winners are announced, Fox have decided to treat US fans to yet another contest. This time around, fans are being asked to create their very own live-action couch gag video, and upload it to MySpace for a chance at winning a trip to Los Angeles to attend The Simpsons 21st season premiere party, a Sony Home Entertainment System and a custom Simpsons drawing.
Andy Baker of Centerville, OH, James King of Windsor, CO and Lena Samol of Mount Washington, KY were the three lucky winners of the “Unleash Your Yellow” poster contest, and will receive a trip to Los Angeles to attend The Simpsons 21st season premiere party also, as well as tickets to “The Simpsons Ride” at Universal Studios Hollywood.
These contests are part of “Best. 20 Years. Ever.”, a year-long global celebration honoring all things The Simpsons, which was launched in January 2009 and will culminate on January 14, 2010, the 20th anniversary of the series’ debut.
Can’t deny FOX, they are trying to promote The Simpsons. Decent idea, may not be ideal for some people, but hey, trying to get them back out their into the mainstream.
I’m generally supporting this kind of contests.
They are obviously trying to get back on their feats, and this kind of promotions, stamps and other activities can produce some good, but temporary effect.
They really got to work very hard either on making good episodes, and to promote them best they can.
Is this another American promotion or can Canada participate?
