The official box art for The Simpsons: The Complete Twentieth Season has today been revealed by Amazon.com. Only one box type is available at this time and we are yet to learn whether or not there will be a limited edition box. But judging by the box art itself, our guess is that this is it for the Season 20 release. Update: High Resolution image now avaliable.

Season 20 Coming To DVD/Blu-Ray
No, that is not a typo. While Season Twelve of The Simpsons was released last month, it appears that Fox are keen to go back to a two-per-year release plan by rushing a release of The Complete Twentieth Season, possibly in time for Christmas 2009. The news was confirmed after Amazon added the title yesterday and KFC unveiled a Season 20 DVD giveaway promotion in conjunction with The Simpsons Ride.

Promo: Treehouse Of Horror XX
Fox has released a promotional image and airdate for this season’s Treehouse Of Horror XX. For a nice change, the episode will be airing on October 18, before Halloween rather than after. The episode will parody classic Hitchcock films when Lisa strikes a deal with Bart to take revenge on their teachers; Lampoon “28 Days Later,” when Krusty’s latest fast food sandwich transforms Springfield into enraged zombies; And re-imagine “Sweeney Todd” when an impaled Homer provides Moe with an unexpectedly delicious beer flavored with his blood

Dan Castellaneta Wins An Emmy
The Creative Arts Emmy award winners were announced this week, and while The Simpsons were in contention for Outstanding Animated Series for the episode ‘Gone Maggie Gone’, it lost out to South Park’s ‘Margaritaville’. It wasn’t all bad news though, as Dan Castellaneta was awarded his fourth Emmy in the voice-over category for his work in ‘Father Knows Worst’. This means that contenders Harry Shearer and Hank Azaria missed out. Congratulations Dan!

Simpsons Comic Con 2009 Rundown
The Simpsons cast got quite a surprise today at their Comic Con panel when a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records appeared on stage. It was also announced that they now have the Guinness for the most Emmy’s for a single show.

Futurama To Get Re-Cast?
When Futurama returns to TV next year, it might be without the show’s original voice cast. Talks have broken down between 20th Century Fox TV and stars Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille over how much they should be paid to take part in the show. As a result, 20th has put out a casting call to find replacement voice actors for the show’s new season.
