Hexam Courant: Football fans don’t usually like seeing yellow cards, but 10-year-old Newcastle United fan, James Pattison was prepared to make an exception when he led ten of his friends and family on to the hallowed turf of the UK national sports centre at Bisham Abbey. For the “card” in question was the cartoon hero Bart Simpson! A meeting with Bart and his dysfunctional family was part of James’s prize when he won a back-to-school competition at Marks & Spencer. Simpsons Enter 14th Season
It is almost a rule that the quality of long-running television shows swirls down the toilet after three or four seasons. Not the Simpsons. The half hour animated show is a clasic, a staple that has remained as true to its roots and is as ingeniously funny today as it was when the Simpson family first appeared in 1987. Now the show opens its 14th season Sunday with its 13th Halloween episode. Read More >>>

Blair Drawn To Simpsons Role
The Scotsman: British Prime Minister Tony Blair is being lined up to follow Ringo Starr, Bill Gates and Buzz Aldrin in accepting the highest honour Americans can bestow – an invitation to appear in The Simpsons. Blair, who has confessed the US cartoon programme is often watched at No10, has been asked by its executive producers to be the next guest voice. Read More >>

Viva, Viva, Las Simpsons!
Planet Hype and The Simpsons Oddyssey are back on the net as one megasite known as Viva Los Simpsons. The site’s design is like a cross between the two sites and all of its content has been merged, creating many sections filled with all the best information and multimedia. Glad to see sites opening rather than closing. This one will be a hit. Check it out.

Simpsons Scares Up Laughs
NY DailyNews: What’s scary about the annual Simpsons Halloween special and the upcoming episodes is how the series has maintained its quality, year after year. It’s difficult not to take “The Simpsons” for granted. It’s been around since 1989, when it was launched as a Christmas special. It’s the oldest current comedy on prime-time television, and the seventh-oldest series, period. Read More >>

Dead Leaves On The Dirty Ground
One of the longest surviving Simpsons sites that shaped the community has joined the stack of sites closing recently. The Simpsons Tree is no more, with a number of factors attributing to its closure. Nate is too tired to continue with the site, and as well a number of character sites are closing, thus leaving not much to link (a similar circumstance that occured with us). The site may reopen if the community picks up pace in the forseeable future.

Calling For A New Design
One piece of news from earlier this week which I couldn’t let go un-noticed is the redesign of Call Of The Simpsons. This german fansite is celebrating its third year online with the excellent new look and a large content update. While I cannot read the german site I can see this is one with a lot to offer, and I have added it to the random link rotation on the right.

All New Simpsons Channel!
We’re back once again after looking like we were going to disappear from the net. Even I was convinced it would happen, but here we are, small, compact, and missing a huge chunk of our content. We aim to be your source for Simpsons news, be it web news or show info, we’ll post it here at The Simpsons Channel.

Simpsons Tricks And Treats
Human cloning, gun control and H.G. Wells’ Island of Lost Souls are all parodied on the traditional instalment of The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror this year. In the new Treehouse episode, the 14th, Homer discovers a way to create clones of himself to do the household chores. But then one of the clones accidentally beheads neighbour Ned Flanders. Going, Going, How Long Before We’re Gone?
There’s been a little trend in the past couple of months. A trend to shut down. All that remains of The Springfield Shopper today is a flash cartoon spelling their demise; similarly, The Simpsons Odyssey has disappeared without prior notice. And now The Simpsons Folder is offline. All this in one week.

Powersauce Just Got More Amazing!
Eye On Springfield is back after being hit by Fox last month. The site is now housed at powersauce.com, previously home to Behind The Laughter. As if the old design wasn’t good enough, the site has been redesigned and it’s just as good! Like never before seen, the site uses several light colour shades in a compact layout reminiscent of a music-type site. The header can be changed by clicking an image, and several information boxes have been implemented nicely. Better than ever before, check it out!
