The Simpsons had 5.17 million viewers watching last night’s new episode ‘Exit Through The Kwik-E-Mart’. These figures aren’t breaking any records, but they are certainly down the lower end of the spectrum for not only this season, but the series as a whole.
Napoleon Dynamite followed with 4.04 million viewers – its final episode for the season – perhaps, ever? It will be replaced by new Bob’s Burgers next week, which just goes to show that sometimes mediocre figures does get you renewed. Family Guy followed at 9pm with 5.33 million viewers, while American Dad ended the night with 4.26 million.
Fox was fourth overall for the night and third among adults 18 – 49. A new episode titled ‘How I Wet Your Mother’ airs next week.

You forgot about the Cleveland Show.
Cleveland Show had 3.16 million viewers at 7.30 leading into The Simpsons – this timeslot is killing the show.
It’s still doing better then I thought it would be doing.
Good episode. Back in the swing of things after a fairly disappointing 500th episode.
I thought the episode was great.
Look at TV Ratings across the board… they continue to go down each year. No network (or show) gets the ratings now that they had when they first started… especially one like The Simpsons which spans from the 90’s – 00’s – 10’s.
Fox’s Sunday Night Animation Domination has never “dominated” in ratings… but it is a staple for the network.
More people are watching TV on computers, through Netflix, on their phone, etc. now than ever. Now a-days ratings are just thought of as the number of people watching a broadcast at one time (and the viewer being counted must stay on the channel the entire time to get the rating). It’s not the number of people who will ultimately watch a new show. Ratings for TV are different from Radio where you get a rating + merely by someone tuning into your station even if for just a few minutes and not for your full program.
