The comics displayed on this page are a Sunday Comic Strip in my local newspaper. They are dated a few years before they were actually published so if you've seen them before, perhaps your newpaper carried them at some point. Most of them don't, however, so I've decided to share what you're missing out on, so they can be seen by a broader audience who will appreciate them. Have fun reading.
» HISTORY OF BONGO COMICS |
Simpsons Comics by Bongo began publishing in late 1993. Before this was a magazine titled 'Simpsons Illustrated' which was a quarter-year-released publication featuring articles, stories, and comics.
Fans of the magazine noted the Comics as among their favourite feature so the publishers of the magazine together with Matt Groening and Bill Morrison scrapped the fan magazine and instead dedicated their time on a series of comic books.
After they published "Simpsons Comics And Stories Issue", they started to publish other comics such as "Simpsons Comics", "Bartman", "Radioactive Man" and "Itchy and Scratchy Comics". In 1995, Lisa Comics, Krusty Comics and Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror were introduced.
In the late 2000, after Bongo published "Simpsons Comics #51", they decided to publish it from bi-monthly to monthly. In October 2000, Bongo released the first issue of Bart Simpson Comics, published quarterly.
